Commentary on the Sefer Kadur ha-ʿOlam (=Maʾareh ha-ʾOfanim), the Hebrew translation of Johannes Sacro Bosco's Sphaera Mundi

According to colophon it was written by the scribe for himself and finished on Rosh Hodesh Shvat 5324 (1574 CE). The name of the scribe is hardly legible, according to JNUL, it is חיים עמרם

History

Origin: [North Africa]; 1574

Provenance and Acquisition

Ownership inscription: "מכסף מקנתי ... יצחק ב"ר שלמה קארא" (fol. 2r). Fol. 1r: list of money taken by the owner to Jerusalem.

It belonged to the oriental collection of Robert Huntington (1636/7-1701), and was bought in 1693 together with 645 other MSS for £752 10s.
