Condition

Very bad condition, parchment is wavy and had to be fixed in many places.

Layout

Main text in one column surrounded with commentaries in the margin.

Hand(s)

Ashkenazi semi-cursive script. Written by three scribes: fols. 1r-14r (probably called Samuel), fols. 14v-30v, fols. 31r-58v (probably called Jacob)

Decoration

Engraved title page.

Commentary is sometimes in the form of carmina figurata (e.g. fol. 10v, 13v, 28v)

Origin: [Ashkenaz]; [14th century]

Provenance and Acquisition

It belonged to Rabbi Isaac Samuel Reggio's (1784-1855) library, which was purchased en bloc by the Bodleian Library in 1853.
