Colophon: Colophon of the scribe Mosheh ben Yaʿaḳov Kalef is on fol. 239v: "אני משה הסופר בר’ יעקב ס"ט בן ... משה כאלף ... כתבתי ... וסיימתיהו ... אלול שנת חמשת אלפים ומאתים וארבעים" . The date Tuesday 20 Elul 5240 given in the colophon is erroneous since 20 Elul never falls on Tuesday. Colophon of the scribe of the masorah in the micrographic pattern framing the colophon of the main scribe: "אני שמואל הסופר בן ... יהושע פרונתירנו[?] מסר אלו חמשת חומשי תורה והפטרות וחמש מגילות"

Provenance and Acquisition

Owner's inscriptions: on fol. 239v above the main colophon, by Samuel Don Abravanel: מהנשא דון שמואל אברבנאל . Under the colophon on fol. 239v, by Elisha Finzi: החומש הזה עם א מקרא מעשרים וארבה עם המסורת מכתיבת יד הסופר ר שמואל בר יצחק דמרינה ס"ט בקלף בשנת ... מישת אלפים רנ"א במתא אישבונה הם מה שבשארו בידי אלישע פנצי יצו מרכוש הרבה שהניחו בידי . Owner's signature of Naftali ha-Leṿi on fol. 2r: נפתלי הלוי (seventeenth-century hand). Owner's signature on fol. 2r: "questo libro de la [...] Anna Levi nate Linchette (Pinchelle?)". Above this inscription another one by Anna partially erased. Ownership (?) note in Hebrew from 5264(?) (1503 or 1504) with the name of the owner erased on fol. 2r. Censor's signature on fol. 238r: "Gio. Dom[eni]co Vistorini 1609".

It was bought in 1852 from Mr. Coombe for £12.
