Byzantine and sephardi semi-cursive scripts.

Fols. 1r-90v and 92r-98r: Byzantine semi-cursive script,

fol. 91r: Sephardi semi-cursive script.

Decoration

A few decorated initial words (e.g. fol. 13r) and a few decorated parashah signs (e.g. fol. 42r)

Binding

Leather binding, blind-tooled, holes for a clasp are visible.

History

Origin: Thebes (Greece); 1490

Provenance and Acquisition

Ownership note on fol. 91r: "אליהו[?] בכ"ר שבתי" חנין[?] ; notes on births on fol. 98v dated from 5246 (= 1486) till 5261 (1501)

It belonged to Rabbi Isaac Samuel Reggio's (1784-1855) library, which was purchased en bloc by the Bodleian Library in 1853.
