Hebrew Bible: Pentateuch with Hafṭarot and Five Scrolls with masorah magna and parva

Hafṭarot with Targum for Pesah and Shavuot. Masorahs are missing from Haftarah Pesah to end.

The Masorah is written by the same hand throughout the whole MS.

The colophon on fol. 239v (end of Five Scrolls) is not by the scribe, but by the vocalizer-Masorete.

Colophon: On fol.239v: "ביום החמישי באחד לחדש אדר שנת חמשים ותשעה חמשת אלפים וחמשים ותשעה נשלמה מלאכת הנקוד והמסורה מן חמש זה ... כתוב יהודית ומתורגם ארמית ... ר’ שמואל ב"ר משה הלוי ... ‬אני יוסף ב"ר יצחק נקדתי ומסרתי זה החומש לר’ שמואל ... הלוי ... בעיר קרצייא". In the margin there is added in small script: "לבד מנקדת ספר הראשון"

Fols. 296-297 were added later.

Provenance and Acquisition

Date of birth entered Censors' signatures: Gio[vanni] Domi[ni]co Carretto 1618 (fol. 297r); Clemente Renatto, Fra. Hipp[olitu]s Ferr[arens]is, Luigi da Bologna (fol. 297v). Ownership note at the beginning of the MS: "לה’ הארץ ומלואה אשר חנן אלקים את עבדו ונתן לי גם את זה נאום נחמיה בכמ’ יעקב יודא הלוי רי"ב אדיל קינד ומבית מונטיקייער", "ביום ג’ ר"ח אדר שצ"ג קנה כמהח"ר משה דוד זלמן זה החומש מקלף עם א’ מחזור מקלף מכמ"ר דוד מרצארו יצ"ו." Long list of purchases of the MS at the beginning of the MS, mostly illegible. Neubauer's reading: Mathatiyah ben Avraham מונטייל sold it on Tuesday the 5th of Av 5230 [1470] at בשיפיאנה on the טניר and Po, to Meshulam ben Yosef; witnesses, Mosheh ben Eliyah(?), Yitshak ben David... (obliterated). Mosheh David זלמן(?) bought it from David מרצארו on Tuesday, rosh hodesh Adar 5393 [1633]; witnesses, Yehiel Nahman, Mosheh of Ravenna ben R. Yosef, David Gallico. Shlomoh Hay ben R. David אבינדאנה (fol.1r). Nehemiah ben R. Yaakov Yehudah ha-Levi זלהה ריב אדילקינר ומבית מונטיקייער (flyleaf).
